Barcade is the Original Arcade Bar: a combination bar and arcade with a focus on classic video games and American craft beer. The original Barcade opened in 2004 in a former metal shop on Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There are now seven Barcade locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, with new locations in Detroit and Los Angeles being added in 2018. Besides the extensive video game selection found at each location, each Barcade has 25 carefully selected craft beers on tap (including at least one cask beer), a full bar with a focus on craft spirits and cocktails, and a diverse food menu (the original location in Brooklyn is the only Barcade that doesn't have its own food menu). Consisting primarily of sandwiches and small plates, Barcade's food menus all offer creative variations of classic pub food, with numerous Vegetarian and vegan options to be found as well. The beer selection at each Barcade is made up solely of American craft beer, with a primary focus on local and regional breweries. All beers are served on draft in order to reduce waste and energy, meaning no bottles or cans are sold at any Barcade. Barcade operates solely on wind power purchased from alternative energy suppliers. The electricity is delivered to locations through the standard electrical grid.
