Certified Green Product Platescrape Uses 93% Less Water Than the Average Spray Nozzle

The GRA is proud to certify the relaunched Platescrape, which can save restaurants thousands of dollars per year in labor, water, and energy costs by working 40% faster and using 93% less water than the average spray nozzle. The company spent years building the product, which features brushes designed to clean tough to remove food crust without ever needing to be replaced. The special coating on the brushes also prevents them from growing bacteria. This product allows restaurants to clean 600+ plates with only 4.5 gallons of water.

As restaurants strive to embrace green practices, Platescrape emerges as a game-changer, enabling restaurants to reduce their environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency. While the average spray nozzle uses 1.28 gallons of hot water per minute, Platescrape’s design cuts down on restaurants’ water usage, as well as time spent trying to pre-sanitize plates. This Certified Green Product saves the average restaurant $673 in water costs, $700 in heating costs, and $1800 in labor costs for every 200,000 plates that are pre-sanitized using Platescrape. Platescrape is changing the way dishes are washed and saving gallons of clean drinking water with every use.

The product has earned Certified Green Product status from the Green Restaurant Association. Using the Platescrape product can earn a restaurant 15.5 GreenPoints™ towards becoming a Certified Green Restaurant®.
